Are There Really Hobbies That Make Money?

There are things in life that we have to do and things we want to do.  Would you agree?

However, if we take it one step further, there are things we want to do and things we LOVE to do.  Would you also agree with that? 

For most people, myself included, the things I love to do boil down to just two or three things. In terms of activities, I love surfing, trading and figuring out ways to make money online. 

I'm sure you have your two or three activities too.  For the most part however, you probably don't make any income from what you are passionate about. 

Wouldn't it be great if you could though? 

That brings us to the topic of this Hub: Are there really hobbies that make money?

I don't know what your answer is but I will tell you mine.  First of all, I know that you will probably disagree with me. 

In fact I am completely bracing myself for you to cuss me out and think that I am totally nuts.  It has happened to me before. 

So what is my opinion?

I believe that ANY hobby can make money.  That's right, even your favorite hobbies.

Now maybe you won't become a trillionaire but I strongly believe that you can make a great part time income and possibly even a full time income by doing something you love. 

That is what you are probably thinking right? 

But let me tell you what, the internet has opened so many possibilities to make money, it's not even funny.  And there are more and more opportunities being invented every day. 

The best part is that you do not have to be a computer geek to get started. 

For example, take this Hub.  You don't have to know any programming or anything about webpages. 

I literally started writing this Hub in about 5 minutes.  I am writing about a topic that I am interested in and if people like my Hub, they will visit is and possibly click on the links. 

If they do click on the links, I will get a portion of the revenue generated from these links.  If I write enough of these articles, I can build up a decent income.

You are probably wondering how this applies to you if you don't want to be a writer. Well, this is just an example. You don't have to be a writer to make money with your hobby.

But what else is out there?

So if you don't want to write, what else can you do? 

You just have to look around and see what other people are doing.  One thing you can do is write a blog.  Most people don't think that you can make money with a blog, but it is possible.

Another thing you can do become an independent contractor and work at home.  If you have a skill that can be done via the internet, then you could try getting work on freelancing websites.

If you have a great camera presence, you can make YouTube videos.  If the videos do well, you can get a cut of the advertising revenue. 

The possibilities are endless!
